Alistair came to stay with us in Woking for a few months after work took him to Bracknell. He gradually built up the confidence to volunteer to baby-sit for our toddler so that we could go out for dinner, then used the contact number of the restaurant (before mobile phones) to ring and pay the bill. Baby-sitting was an adventure for him, generosity came naturally. And we cherish the memory of Chapelle du Roi concerts, and post-concert meals of extraordinary variety.
