Alistair had many talents I knew him originally through his musical work and his Thomas Tallis recordings are a tour de force. Later he joined the Worshipful Company of Management Consultants and had a great love of wine (as someone drawn to the hospitality industry) so became very involved with the Wine Club and acted as its  first honorary treasurer. The Wine Committee also  leant heavily on Alistair for his accounting skills and wine knowledge over the early years of building the Company Cellar. He joined in and helped me organise memorable Wine Club trips including the second of all our trips to the Loire Valley in 2015. Alistair was perhaps best described as a very companionable polymath.
